The figures are available this summer
This August, Metallica fans can take home the band as stylized POP! vinyl figures from Funko. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo can be ordered separately or as an entire set. Each figure stands 3.75″ inches tall and comes in a window display box.
Each figure is priced $10.99 or $43.96 for the entire set and can be pre-ordered through the band’s website. The Metallica figures are number from 57-60.
Metallica is the latest musical act to join the POP! Rocks series of vinyl figurines by Funko. Amy Winehouse, Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Joey Ramone, Justin Bieber and Lemmy have all been immortalized as Funk dolls.
This isn’t the first time Metallica has been developed into figurines. McFarlane Toys released a series of four action figures (and a complete box set) called Harvester Of Sorrow in 2001 featuring Jason Newsted on bass. Each figure was packaged individually with parts of Ulrich’s drum set in each package, as well as a box set complete with double bass drum kit, staging and lighting. The company also released a 3D art of Master Of Puppets in July 2006.
In January 2005, SEG released a Master Of Puppets playset, based on the group’s 1986 album. The set includes 25 pieces featuring four Smiti figures – James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton – stage, backdrop, four crosses, two guitars, bass, four cymbals with stands, high-hats, four piece drum set, two drumsticks and microphone.
