Metallica releases ‘One’ Grammy rehearsal audio via iTunes

Metallica has released a recording of “One” with Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang from a rehearsal for their joint performance at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on January 26th.

The single was professionally mixed and mastered for this release and is currently only available on iTunes.

The band posted on their website, “We had such an amazing time performing ‘One’ with world-renowned concert pianist Lang Lang at a recent awards show that we want to share it with those of you who couldn’t watch or just want to re-live it sonically. Our rehearsal at East West Studios is now available to download on iTunes in North America with the rest of the world coming very soon. It will be available on additional digital retailers shortly in China.

“A portion of proceeds from sales of the song on iTunes will be donated to MusiCares.”

The band also posted a 21 minute video on YouTube featuring footage of their rehearsal sessions for their Grammy performance.

This was the first time in 23 years that Metallica has played the Grammys. Their last performance was at the 33rd Annual Grammy Awards in 1991 while Lang Lang last performed at the 50th Grammys in 2008.
