Metallica has announced that it has teamed up with ESPN and Circuit of the Americas to assist the victims hit by the recent floods in Central Texas during their show at the X Games in Austin, TX on Saturday (June 6th).
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone out at the X Games this Saturday, but are also reminded that many of our friends in Texas have suffered hardships during the severe weather that hit Central Texas causing extreme flooding,” the band says in a statement. “So we have joined forces with ESPN and Circuit of the Americas to assist the victims of the recent floods by donating all money raised from the sales of downloads of this show through LiveMetallica.com to the Central Texas Red Cross. All formats of the download, including the high definition versions, are being offered at the very deeply discounted price of $5 each through July 15th.”
Fans attending the X Games will see a portion of their ticket sales donated to the Central Texas Red Cross. Those who are unable to attend, but still want to help out can donate by pre-ordering the X Games show or visiting RedCross.org/springstorms.
