Metallica teams with Monopoly for second time

The new game is available now

Metallica and Monopoly have collaborated once again for an all new, second edition of this American classic. Metallica: Monopoly World Tour Edition is available for $39.99 via the band’s webstore and celebrates the band becoming the first to ever perform on all seven continents in 2013.

“This time we’re celebrating life on the road, including the world record breaking, Whiplash-filled year of 2013 when Metallica became the first and only band to ever perform on all seven continents,” the band shares. “Tour around the globe with your collectable token to some of the band’s favorite cities in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. You’ll even find yourself Trapped Under Ice in Antarctica!”

Fans can purchase property with Metalli-bucks, acquire all the cities on one continent, and add arenas and stadiums to increase the value. Land on one of the “Carpe Diem” or “Shortest Straw” spaces and be rewarded with sticks, picks, and snake pit passes, or fined with parking and stage repair fees. Travel the world, Metallica-style, while building a real estate empire!

Player tokens include Lady Justice, Death Magnetic coffin, Ride the Lightning electric chair, Master of Puppets Cross, Metal Up Your Ass toilet, and the Scary Guy.

The band originally teamed with Hasbro, the company that makes Monopoly, in 2011 for Monopoly Metallica: Collector’s Edition that featured historic Metallica events and locations such as club shows, festivals, studios, childhood homes and other metal landmarks. Game pieces included the Kill ‘Em All hammer, …And Justice For All scales, St. Anger fist, Black Album snake, ninja star, and the ‘Jump in the Fire’ demon.
