‘Metallica Through The Never’ announced for multi-format Jan 28th

Metallica has announced that its 3D film Metallica Through The Never is coming to two disc DVD, two disc Blu-ray, two disc 3D Blu-ray and Video On Demand (VOD) on January 28th through its own Blackened Recordings.

The DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray will include extensive behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film including an 80+ minute Making of Metallica Through the Never documentary including two never before seen chapters put together by Adam Dubin who worked with the band on its 1991 documentary film, A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica.

Other special features include the film’s theatrical trailer, “Master Of Puppets” music video, EPK featuring interviews with the cast and crew, interviews with the Sound and Music Team, Mill Valley Film Festival Q&A with Metallica, Director Nimród Antal & Dane Dehaan, and Orion Festival 2013 Film Tent Highlights with Lars Ulrich. Each physical copy will also come with a digital download of the film.

A special Limited Deluxe 3D Blu-ray set will also be available that contains 3D Lenticular Artwork as well as a Limited Edition Metallica Through The Never Bandana and Limited Edition Metallica Through The Never Movie Poster Lithograph.

Members of the band’s Met Club will be the first to pick up a Limited Doris Edition Deluxe 3D Blu-ray set that includes all of the other goodies (the Poster Lithograph will be signed by all four members), plus a piece of the “Doris” Statue of Lady Justice that was used as a stage prop during the filming of Metallica Through The Never. The prop comes with a letter of authenticity. Only 1,000 pieces will be available and will never be sold in stores or ever again after they are gone!

For fans who prefer the digital format will get the feature film as well as the Making of Metallica Through the Never documentary.
