The track features their neo-traditional, Texas-influenced country sound
Grammy-nominated trio Midland provides the perfect soundtrack for a night out on the town with their new song โGlass Half Empty,โ via Big Machine Records. The track finds the group fully embracing their signature neo-traditional, Texas-influenced country sound that fans have known and loved since their breakout hit โDrinkinโ Problem.โ Written by band members Jess Carson and Cameron Duddy alongside Jeff Hyde and Ryan Tyndell, the feel-good track transports listeners to a vibrant Western honky tonk where some good music and carefree two-stepping has the power to fill your cup and make you feel like everything is going to be all right. With first-class Country instrumentation and the bandโs standout harmonies, โGlass Half Emptyโ is an irresistibly catchy barroom anthem and further proof of the beloved groupโs ability to craft modern music with classic themes at the forefront.
โI wish we had this song in our canon when we were playing Poodies Roadhouse or The Broken Spoke years ago,โ shares Cameron Duddy. โItโs got more guts than anything weโve put out and feels like the sweaty nights we spent in the Texas Honky Tonks where we got our start.โ
โโGlass Half Emptyโ is what I would call a โHonky Tonk Bar Stormerโ โ an uptempo Country banger carefully handcrafted to get your ass off the bar stool, lift your spirits and the spirit in your glass and get to pushing some sawdust around the dance floor,โ adds Mark Wystrach.
Jess Carson invites fans to โcrank up that volume knob โtil it breaks clean off โ this is your new Friday night anthem!โ
Midland premiered โGlass Half Emptyโ in front of 80,000 fans at Stagecoach Festival last month, which included surprise appearances from Tracy Lawrence, Noah Cyrus, Marcus King, and their โI Wish You Wouldโ duet partner Mackenzie Carpenter.
The official music video for โGlass Half Emptyโ is out now. Directed by Harper Smith, the video features the band performing the track on their incredible barroom-inspired Stagecoach set. This summer, Midland will perform at various fairs and festivals including Million Dollar Music Fest, CMA Fest, and more before embarking on their European tour which will make stops in the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
