Minus The Bear announce new LP, fall tour

Acclaimed Seattle rock band Minus the Bear are set to release a brand new full length album, Acoustics II, which features some of the band’s best known tracks recorded very simply and acoustically in a way that showcases the kind of deft songwriting that has made the band a favorite of music fans and critics alike. Acoustics II showcases songs from each of the band’s five previous studio albums and features two brand new tracks – “Riddles” and “The Storm.”

To support the new album’s release, Minus The Bear are dusting off their road cases in preparation for a 39 city tour which kicks off on September 8th at the Launch Festival in Sacramento, CA and culminates in the band’s hometown of Seattle with a November 8th date at Showbox.

Acoustics II is really an addendum of the band’s well-received Acoustics EP which was released in 2008 to a groundswell of positive support. Minus the Bear – Jake Snider (vocals, guitar), David Knudson (guitar), Cory Murchy (bass), Alex Rose (keyboards, saxophone, vocals, programming), and Erin Tate (drums and percussion) – recorded Acoustics II with longtime collaborator/producer Matt Bayles at his Red Room studio in Seattle this past Spring.

Known for an exceedingly passionate and loyal fanbase, Minus the Bear launched the campaign for Acoustics II last month on PledgeMusic.com, a site that offers hardcore fans the ability to secure rare and unique offerings from bands. To date, Minus the Bear’s PledgeMusic campaign has been a huge hit with fans – they are tracking 130% over their initial goal.

Fans that buy Acoustics II via the band’s PledgeMusic will receive the album a week early, on September 3rd. The album will be available to the general public on September 10th and a special vinyl edition will be available on October 1st.

Minus the Bear’s epic fall tour will feature the band in full electric mode, as well as an acoustic portion of the show, all replete with the kind of virtuosic playing which has made them a must see on the road.
