Montgomery Gentry set ‘Outskirts’ 7 track EP for June 14th

Project will be available digitally on Apple Music

Outskirts, Montgomery Gentry’s new seven track EP, is scheduled for release June 14th via Average Joes Entertainment. Produced by award-winning producers Noah Gordon and Shannon Houchins, fans who pre-order will instantly receive “King of the World” featuring guitar virtuoso, Steve Vai. Listen to an exclusive premiere of “King of the World” featuring Steve Vai on GuitarPlayer.com.

Recorded in September of 2017, the return of the duo’s signature southern rock sound on Outskirts will be welcomed by fans. Eddie Montgomery’s rough-hewn baritone combined with Gentry’s incredible range and smooth vocals shine throughout the new offering. “Can’t wait for my friends to hear these songs. T-Roy and I had a blast recording them,” Montgomery states of the new project.

Opening with the title track, “Outskirts,” which sings the praises of small town living and common core values, the new offering also includes two incredible cover songs – Montgomery’s version of Merle Haggard’s “What Am I Going To Do With The Rest Of My Life,” and Gentry’s take on the Darrell Scott classic “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive.”

A standout track, “King of the World” featuring Steve Vai on guitar, is a swampy, uptempo song punctuated by Steve Vai’s characteristic guitar licks. “‘King of the World’ is the way I want to live my life when I grow up,” states Montgomery. “When I found out that guitar god, Steve Vai, was into it…that made it the shit. Wow, still can’t believe Steve Vai is playing on one of my songs!!”

Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry continues to tour coast to coast sharing new music with fans nationwide. At the request of the fans he calls friends, Montgomery will perform a special Underground Fan Club party presented by Wrangler at Acme Feed and Seed during CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee on June 4th.
