Song tops country radio charts for three weeks

Morgan Wallen has racked up his sixth career No. 1 single at country radio after “Wasted On You” claims the top spot on the Mediabase and the Billboard Country Airplay charts for the third consecutive week. The track is from his record-breaking Dangerous: The Double Album that topped the Billboard Top 200 chart its first 10 weeks, at the height of being blacklisted after he was caught on video using a racial slur in February 2021.

Tyler Waugh, Big Loud Director of National Promotion, congratulates Wallen and the Big Loud team on the feat.

“Congratulations to Morgan Wallen and to the bad ass promotion team at Big Loud Records that I’m fortunate to be part of,” Waugh shares. “Multi-week #1s are reserved for the best songs that are truly deserving, and Morgan has many of these. And a huge thank you to all of our great supporting country radio friends! Cheers!”

The song ties “Whiskey Glasses” for his longest running single on Billboard’s Country Airplay charts, according to Billboard. “Glasses” was his second No. 1 that ruled for three weeks in June 2019.

“Wasted” also tops the multi-metric Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for an eighth week as it draws 11.4 million official US streams and moves more than 4,000 downloads this week.

Dangerous also rebounds to the top position on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, extending the project’s record for 64 non consecutive weeks at No. 1.

In May, Wallen made history after “Don’t Think Jesus” debuted at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, marking his third record-breaking single to have done so. Wallen is one of two artists who have debuted multiple songs atop of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Taylor Swift follows with “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” and “Love Story (Taylor’s Version).” Eleven songs have debuted on the chart during its lifespan.
