Mötley Crüe announces ‘Cancelled EP’

The project drops on October 4th

Mötley Crüe will release the Cancelled EP on October 4th via Big Machine Label Group. The three-song package includes the top five radio hit “Dogs of War,” the new single, “Fight for Your Right” (a cover of the Beastie Boys classic), and the title track, “Cancelled.”

The tracks were recorded in April 2023 with Bob Rock, who produced the band’s famed 1989 album, Dr. Feelgood.

The EP will be available on CD, red/black splatter 12-inch 45 RPM vinyl, and digitally.

The “Dogs of War” video was created by Nick DenBoer, featuring the rowdy quartet in an apocalyptic wasteland, full of classic Crüe debauchery.

The band last released new music in 2019 when it released The Dirt, the band’s hugely successful Netflix biopic that saw the band destroy their Cessation of Touring agreement following a massive surge in new audience.

The deal with Nashville’s Big Machine Label Group reunites the band with label founder Scott Borchetta who was behind the 2014 Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe album that featured classic Crüe tracks covered by some of country music’s biggest stars. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200, No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, and featured the Top 30 hit, “Home Sweet Home,” performed by Justin Moore and Vince Neil. Big Machine also partnered with Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 for the release of his 2021 album, Sinner.
