The Music Universe hits the Orange Carpet at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards

The night honored the best in family entertainment with blimps and slime

The Music Universe was on hand at the Orange Carpet at Nickelodeon’s 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards. Check out all the fun from Downtown Los Angeles below.

It was clear from the raucous crowd that Swifities ruled the night musically, with favorites from social media also taking home blimps.

Charli D’Amelio and Bebe Rexha opened the night with “I’m Good,” Rexha’s 2022 remix of the Eiffel 65 dance classic “Blue Da Ba Dee.” Rexha was, of course, slimed after her performance. Lil Baby performed “California Breeze” to the hyped up audience of fans a slew of slimy kids. He, however, escaped the green goo.

The same could not be said for the pit packed with kids, who were doused repeatedly throughout the night with Nick’s trademark neon mess.

Though they did not manage to take home an orange blimp for Favorite Movie, the cast of Monster High chatted with us about making the musical film, and their excitement for the sequel. Also, the cast of Aaron & Erin, a musical sitcom premiering next month on Nick, spoke about singing live while filming.

Other highlights included YouTube sensation and perennial good guy Mr. Beast descending from a UFO to accept his award for Favorite Male Creator. Plus, Lil Uzi Vert offered a rap with SpongeBob that promoted show sponsor Lunchables’ new product.

As you will soon hear on an upcoming TMU Podcast episode, the stars of many of your favorite family movies and shows have music projects coming out. They were excited to share the details with us.

The Kids Choice Awards 2023 was a fun, star-packed, music-filled evening. Everyone left with a smile on their face and a bit of smile in their hearts!
