Band pays homage to 90s grunge
Coming armed with plenty of alt rock attitude, Chicago’s Neurotix has vowed to bring back early 90’s grunge rock with The Basement Recordings album. Upon first listen, you may think you’re listening to a album recorded in the 90’s, but it is clearly a 2018 creation.
Why would you think The Basement Recordings was made in the 90’s? Because Neurotix’s mission is to be as true to the 90’s sound as possible. The album pays homage to many of the 90’s alt/grunge era heroes, but it’s appealing enough to get today’s generation into The Basement Recordings. Whether you’re Gen X or a Millennial, the tracks laid out here will totally grab you by your flannel shirts.
Keeping the tracks short, with most songs being under three minutes, the songs also display what will be signatures for this band — hard riffs, gruff vocals, powerful drumming, deep lyrics. There’s plenty of musicianship to be found but these guys also rock! It’s not a pretty sounding album but raw, gritty, everything that defined 90’s alt, Neurotix accomplishes. It’s worth several listens.
