Special one night engagement is Oct 7th in Harlem

New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their hit packed, breakout album Hangin Tough with a special one night engagement at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater on October 7th. The group will make its return to the Apollo stage for the first performance since they debuted “Please Don’t Go Girl” at the Apollo’s notoriously tough amateur night. The group shocked the crowd who went from booing them to cheering them in what was the start of a whirlwind launch to superstardom for New Kids on the Block. Fan Club pre-sale starts at 10 am on Thursday, August 16th.

The show will celebrate the career defining album, Hangin Tough which produced hits like “Please Don’t Go Girl,” which became the group’s first top ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart,”You Got It (The Right Stuff),” a global hit that reached number three on the charts, “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” which became the group’s first number one on the Billboard Hot 100, followed by the album’s title track which also went to number one, and “Cover Girl” a fan favorite that hit number two on the charts.

When first released, the album received critical acclaim, won two American Music Awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group, and garnered them a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video, Long Form (now called Best Music Film). With sales of more than 14 million copies worldwide, Hangin’ Tough remains the group’s best-selling album to date.
