A list of upcoming projects
As the month comes to a close next week, more acts are announcing their plans for the year including album news. Newly announced upcoming releases include albums from Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Shania Twain, Darius Rucker and more while others, such as Billy Joel and The Sound Of Music are being reissued. Surely, you’ll find a gem or two that sparks your interest.
Shania Twain will issue the self-produced Shania: Still The One Live From Vegas on CD and DVD exclusively through Walmart on March 3rd. The set, filmed during her two year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, was initially announced as a separate Blu-ray and DVD wide release, but new details reveal that the Blu-ray was scratched (at least for now).
Also on March 3rd, Warner Music Nashville will reissue Dwight Yoakam’s 1987 album, Hillbilly Deluxe, on 180-gram vinyl. Mastered at 192 khz / 24 bit at Capitol Mastering by Ron McMaster from the original analog sources in original packaging recreated.
This week, Luke Bryan announced that he will release the final of seven Spring Break albums on March 10th. The set entitled, Spring Break…Checkin’ Out, will be issued on Capitol Nashville. No other details were revealed about the project which will precede a summer tour.
Also on March 10th, the classic film The Sound Of Music will be reissued in multi-formats. The Sound Of Music – 50th Anniversary Edition will be newly remastered and expanded on single CD containing 27 tracks from Legacy Recordings. In conjunction to the expanded edition, Analog Spark/Razor & Tie will issue The Sound Of Music – 50th Anniversary Edition on double LP 180-gram vinyl, and will also issue the original 16 track Grammy Hall Of Fame-inducted RCA Victor soundtrack album on 180-gram vinyl and SACD. The expanded edition will also be included in 20th Century Fox’s 50th Anniversary reissue of the classic musical on five disc Blu-ray.
On March 17th, Friday Music will release Billy Joel’s Cold Spring Harbor on Limited Anniversary Edition 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl in a gatefold cover.
Darius Rucker announced that his fourth solo country album, Southern Style, will be released on March 31st via Capitol Nashville. The album will contain his latest single “Homegrown Honey” and will coincide with a tour of the same name.
On April 7th, Halestorm will release its third studio album, Into The Wild, on Standard CD, Deluxe CD and LP. A colored vinyl version along with an autographed poster are available exclusively through their website.
Reba McEntire confirmed during a radio interview on January 22nd with Indianapolis station 97.1 HANK FM that her new album, her first in five years, will be released on April 14th. She actually said April 16th, but since that’s a Thursday, and most releases are released on Tuesday, we’re going with April 14th. The album, she says, has a name they’re working with but did not reveal the title in case it changes.
