NWA band signed slip to be auctioned

The item includes a signature by Eazy-E

A signed slip by NWA, dating back to 1988 shortly before the debut of Straight Outta Compton, is set to be auctioned by Nate D Sanders. The slip features signatures from Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, and Ice Cube. The signatures were obtained by Tony Smith, a former Magic Mountain employee who worked at the carnival basketball stand. According to Tony, he hit it off with the four members while they were playing the game, as he was feeding them free basketballs, knowing them from the LA rap scene. As a token of appreciation, the band offered to sign the slip for him, also mentioning that they were about to become really famous.

The slip includes the very rare signature of Eazy-E, who passed away in 1995. Eazy-E handwrote the inscription: “TO: TONY / NICE MEETING YOU STAY COOL HOMEBOY / ‘EAZY-E’ / N.W.A.” Additionally, Ice Cube inscribed, “TO: TONY / STAY UP / ICE CUBE / N.W.A.” DJ Yella and Dr. Dre also signed the slip. The verso of the slip has numbers on it, indicating it was used in the basketball game.

The item is accompanied by a PSA/DNA COA for all four signatures.

An industry leader in documents and autographs, Nate D. Sanders Auctions has conducted auctions in Los Angeles since 1990 and now holds major auctions monthly. Owner Nate Sanders is recognized for his knowledge of sports, and historical and Hollywood memorabilia.
