Newton-John passed away in early Aug

TidalWave Comics celebrates the life of Olivia Newton-John by adding her life story to its “Tribute” comic book biography series, released now in time for the icon’s birthday which is September 26th.

Written by Sandra C. Ruckdeschel, with an epilogue by Michael Frizell the book is illustrated by Alessandro Miracolo and Pablo Martinena. The 34-page comic book is available digitally and in print and can be found on multiple platforms such as Amazon. The book will be as a softback and a hardcover book.

Olivia Newton-John burst onto the scene in the 1970s as Sandy in the smash movie-musical Grease. As a musician, her numerous top ten hits included the 80’s aerobic anthem “Physical” and the title track to “Twist of Fate.” Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, Newton-John worked tirelessly to bring awareness and education to an illness afflicting millions. Her second round of breast cancer in 2013 led Newton-John to privately try natural medicine. Diagnosed with the disease again in 2018, Newton-John and her foundation have actively pioneered ways to battle the disease and its often-painful symptoms. Her spirit and desire to help others never waned through it all, making her a true female force.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the ONJ Foundation.

“We were honored to work with Olivia on a comic book years ago. She gave us her insight and exclusive info which we have used in this issue as well. She was amazing and inspiring to work with,” says TidalWave’s publisher, Darren G. Davis. “The Tribute line of comic books tells the stories of the classic entertainers that have passed on. It is a way for us to honor these people who have made a difference in the world.”

“Writing this comic book about Olivia Newton-John was a dream come true for me! I grew up idolizing Olivia as a child and I still do as adult! She is the epitome of grace, kindness, and love. Researching her life story for this comic was not even work, it was pure joy! And having the opportunity to create a story and images to express who she is to the world was an honor,” adds Ruckdeschel.

There will also be two exclusive covers available at Comic Flea Market.

Newton-John has passed away at the age of 73 on August 8th. No cause of death was revealed, but Newton-John had battled breast cancer for 30 years. She was a 4x Grammy winner with five No. 1 hits and ten Top 10 singles and scored two Billboard 200 No. 1 albums.
