Olivia Rodrigo announces three new ‘Sour’ vinyl variants

New versions available May 27th

Olivia Rodrigo celebrates the first anniversary of her debut album Sour with three new colored vinyl editions and updated CD box sets. Rodrigo and Interscope are offering a Light Blue vinyl at Amazon, Fruit Punch vinyl at Urban Outfitters and Baby Pink vinyl at independent music retailers, due May 27th. In addition, Target will offer the Sour CD with an updated zine/journal and tattoo sheet. A special box set with CD, updated zine/journal and t-shirt will be available exclusively at Rodrigo’s online store.

Sour has sold more than 11.7 million equivalent album units globally since its release on May 21, 2021. It won a GRAMMY for Best Pop Vocal Album, Top Billboard 200 Album at the Billboard Music Awards and took home Album Of The Year honors at the People’s Choice Awards and Apple Music Awards.

Rodrigo will wrap up the North American leg of her first-ever world tour with a two-night stand at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on May 24-25, and a May 27th show at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. She’ll kick off the European/UK leg of the sold out run on June 11th in Hamburg, Germany. Special guests Holly Humberstone will support May 21-25 with Baby Queen supporting June 11 – July 7.

Earlier this year, Disney+ released Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film) in which Rodrigo takes a road trip from Salt Lake City, where she began writing the songs for Sour, to Los Angeles. The film features new live arrangements of her songs, intimate interviews, and never-before-seen footage of the making of the album. The film is nominated for a 2022 MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Music Documentary.

Sour debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and atop the album charts in the UK, Canada, Ireland, Norway, Holland, Sweden, Australia, and New Zealand. After achieving RIAA Gold certification in its first week, it is now 3x Platinum in the US. Upon release, the album scored the most US audio streams from a female debut album ever and broke the record for the most-streamed album in a week by a female artist in Spotify history.

The 5x Platinum singles “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U” topped the Billboard Hot 100 while the top 5 song “Deja Vu” has been certified 3x Platinum. With over 1.1 billion streams, “Drivers License” was the top streamed song of 2021 on Spotify. All 11 tracks from the album have been certified by the RIAA – and have landed in the top 30 of Billboard’s Hot 100, making Rodrigo the first female artist, and the fourth act overall, to simultaneously chart 11 or more songs in the top 30.

The second youngest artist in GRAMMY history to score nods in each of the Big Four categories in the same year, Rodrigo won three awards out of seven nominations – Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance. She was named New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards and Songwriter of the Year at both the ASCAP Pop Music Awards and Variety Hitmakers. Rodrigo also took home seven Billboard Awards including Top New Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album, the most awards for any artist this year. Rodrigo was also named Woman of the Year at Billboard’s 2022 Women in Music Awards.
