Jackson makes Jimmy Kimmel Live! debut on Dec 3rd
Following its release on November 13th, Paris Jackson’s debut album Wilted via Republic Records reached No. 1 on the iTunes US Alternative Album Chart.
The album has been heralded by press with Rolling Stone declaring it “well-crafted indie-pop,” and NME referring to it as a collection of “11 intimate songs that’ll fit like your favourite sweater.” The New York Post described “a dreamy wooziness, a sultry torchiness, a haunting moodiness to ‘wilted’,” with People Magazine most importantly noting that “Paris Jackson is blazing her own path in the music industry.”
In addition to being featured on the latest digital cover for FAULT Magazine, Jackson recently spoke with NPR’s Weekend Edition about the new album. She was also featured in WWD, discussing the stunning music video for “Let Down,” which was executive produced by Eli Roth, directed by Meredith Alloway and featured an Alexander McQueen archival piece from his spring 2007 collection (look 20). In just two weeks, the single has amassed nearly 1.5 million combined global streams and has been added to rotation on Sirius’ Alt Nation.
Next up, the 22-year-old singer, songwriter, actress, model and activist will make her television performance debut on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on December 3rd.
Co-written and produced by Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull with engineering and instrumentation by Manchester Orchestra’s Robert McDowell, these eleven tracks stitch together a multi-dimensional pastiche of hurt, healing, loss, and love carried by hazy vocalizations and a patchwork of earthy alternative folk.
While Jackson hails from one of the most successful families in music history, she is best known for her activism, acting & modeling work, the latter of which has seen her front campaigns for international brands like Calvin Klein, grace the cover of top fashion magazines, including numerous Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar titles, and make her runway debut earlier this year at Jean-Paul Gaultier’s final show. On the acting front, Jackson has taken on several TV and film roles, collaborating with acclaimed industry professionals, including Lee Daniels, Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, and Rachel Winters. Aside from music, Jackson’s biggest passion has always been in using her platform to shine light on causes important to her, notably going off script while presenting at the Grammy Awards and MTV VMAs, to highlight the Dakota Access Pipeline and events of racial injustice in Charlottesville, respectively. Jackson also serves as an Ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) and is passionate about continuing her godmother’s legacy of ridding the stigma and finding a cure for the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
