PartyNextDoor, Drake make history with first-day streams for joint R&B album

$$$4U ($ome $exy $ongs 4 U) debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart

PartyNextDoor and Drake’s highly anticipated new collaborative album $$$4U ($ome $exy $ongs 4 U) has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. This marks PartyNextDoor’s first and Drake’s 14th No. 1 album. $$$4U – released on February 14th via OVO Sound – also makes No. 1 debuts on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Rap Albums and Top Streaming Albums charts.

Met with overwhelming fan sentiment and support upon release, $$$4U made history at Apple Music with the most ever day-one streams for an R&B album. The album also reached No. 1 in PartyNextDoor and Drake’s native Canada, where, like the U.S., it made the biggest debut of the year thus far.

Last week, PartyNextDoor joined Drake for six shows between Melbourne and Sydney on his sold-out Anita Max Win Tour of Australia.

PartyNextDoor – one of the most prolific and sought-after songwriters and producers in hip-hop and R&B – was the first artist to sign to Drake’s OVO Sound label. Since his signing in 2013, PartyNextDoor and Drake have collaborated on multiple songs, including PND standouts “Over Here,” “Recognize,” “Loyal,” and “Come And See Me,” and Drake’s “With You,” “Wednesday Night Interlude,” “Preach” “Since Way Back” “Members Only” and more.

$$$4U is PartyNextDoor’s second project in less than a year, following the critically acclaimed PartyNextDoor 4 (P4), which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and No. 2 on the R&B album chart. The P4 album is currently certified gold by the RIAA, with tracks “No Chill” reaching platinum, and “Make It To The Morning” and “Resentment” reaching gold. Looking ahead, Party will continue to reach milestones across his entire catalogue with tracks such as “Sex On The Beach,” “Belong To The City,” “Persian Rugs” and “Freak In You” all reaching platinum status. Additionally, the P3 album will certify platinum, and the Drake collaborative track “Come And See Me” will reach six-time platinum.
