PinkPantheress shares unreleased deep cut ‘Close to You’

The pop star’s North American An Evening with PinkPantheress residency-style tour kicks off this fall

In celebration of making her debut performance at the world’s largest music festival, Glastonbury, later this month, British anti-pop star PinkPantheress has surprised fans with the release of one of her most highly requested unreleased tracks, “Close to You.” The surprise release comes with an accompanying music video.

The song drop follows PinkPantheress’ intimate performance in London on Thursday (June 19th), where she surprised fans with a live rendition of the track – to rapturous reception. As a souvenir, fans who attended last night’s show were given a “Close to You” promo CD. Originally teased on Soundcloud in 2021, “Close to You” quickly became one of the most sought-after tracks among fans, with audio rips being reposted across YouTube hundreds of times.

Directed by Lauzza (the creative behind her “Just For Me” music video) the visuals serve as a nod to PinkPantheress’ early roots whilst incorporating themes highlighting the artist she’s grown into. The video follows PinkPantheress as she tries to mend her broken heart using fairytale romance as her source material.

“So excited to FINALLY present this song, i can’t believe how many people have asked for this song, im really honoured to have had fans wait this long for this release, being one of my first written songs, it’s so special that four years later it can see the light of day,” PinkPantheress shares.

The release of “Close to You” follows the news that PinkPantheress will be performing across North America later this year on her An Evening with PinkPantheress residency-style tour, bringing her new mixtape Fancy That to audiences in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and more for the first time. The North American dates are her first headlining Stateside shows since last year’s Capable of Love ‘24 Tour and will follow her Glastonbury Festival debut, as well as her sold-out two-night residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton in September.
