Poison has canceled tonight’s Nashville gig at Nissan Stadium due to Bret Michaels falling ill and being hospitalized. Michaels’ bandmates — CC DeVille, Rikki Rockett and Bobby Dall — took to the stage to share the news before what was to be their 7 pm set time. They said Michaels was ill and the group would not be performing. His band said he had suffered from an allergic reaction medication, but it was not revealed that it was COVID related.

Metal Sludge reports that the band’s VIP meet and greet was also canceled due to a positive COVID case with the band. Earlier reports say Michaels tested positive for COVID, although that’s not been officially confirmed.

Michaels is currently being treated at a Nashville area hospital with his condition unknown. The band has yet to make a statement on social media or address the future of this weekend’s shows.

Lightning also appears to affected the Music City tour stop. Twitter users report that Classless Act performed two songs before being forced off the stage for a rain delay. After an hour, Joan Jett eventually took the stage with Poison making their announcement before Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe followed.

The group is currently supporting The Stadium Tour with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. The shows kicked off earlier this month after a two year delay due to the pandemic. The Crüe’s closing DC performance last week was also delayed to lightning. The took the stage after a 90 minute rain delay.

Due to popular demand, additional dates were added, extending the trek to 36 cities. Twenty-five stops have sold out while amassing over one million tickets sold to eager fans wanting to see Mötley Crüe return seven years after their Cessation of Touring agreement. The band destroyed the contract following a massive surge in new audience after the huge success of their Netflix biopic The Dirt.
