“From The Saddle” will feature pictures Rockett has taken while on tour

As Poison sets out on its 30th anniversary tour this summer, drummer Rikki Rockett will be documenting his adventures from a unique perspective. In a side project called, “From The Saddle,” Rockett will trade his tour bus for a Scrambler Ducati motorcycle and capture photos taken solely from the seat of his bike as he captures the backroads and byways of North America.

Rockett, who recently won a battle against stage four oral cancer, will unveil his photos at an exclusive show following his tour at an unannounced art gallery in Los Angeles. Proceeds will fund immunotherapy clinical trials for cancer at the UCSD Moore’s Cancer Center in San Diego, CA.

“My goal is to show people that you can get fight through adversity, move on and embrace your life,” Rockett states in a press release. “I have immunotherapy to thank for saving the day and I want to enable others the same opportunity.”

Rockett promises to share video updates throughout his trek on Facebook. Rockett has partnered with Leica Cameras, Mac Tools, Zoom and Ducati for the project.

Rockett and his Poison bandmates — Bret Michaels, C.C. DeVille and Bobby Dall — will set out on Poison XXX with Def Leppard and Tesla beginning April 8th in Manchester, NH. The three month trek wraps on June 25th in Indianapolis, IN. This is the first Poison tour in more than five years which was with Def Leppard in 2012.
