The Valory Music Co.’s emerging powerhouse vocalist Preston Cooper hits country radio with his staggering debut single, “Weak,” now playing on stations nationwide. The track ranks among this week’s most added, landing 58 first-week stations in major markets including Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Charlotte and more. “Weak” holds personal significance for Preston, as it was the first song he wrote in Nashville, alongside Brett Warren, Brad Warren and Lance Miller. The track puts the rising country star on full display and serves as the lead single from his debut album Toledo Talkin’, set to release August 29th.

“Weak” traveled to Nashville with Preston, born from a melody he first recorded while walking his daily 14-mile mail route as a postman in Fredricktown, Ohio. After bringing the idea to his first writing session in Nashville, the track quickly took shape and was recorded just hours later. The song showcases his truest form, becoming a signature moment in his live shows, most recently supporting Kameron Marlowe’s Keepin’ The Lights On Tour. “Weak” has quickly become a catalyst for his upcoming debut album, further fueling the excitement for what’s next from Preston.
With 12 incendiary tracks – all but three co-written by the no-frills newcomer – Toledo Talkin’ sticks close to Cooper’s shoot-it-straight style. In Addition to “Weak,” the album features recently released songs including emotive rocker “One More Place I’ve Never Been,” “Numbers On A Mailbox,” and “One For The Road.” Opting for an old-school, full-band recording process, Toledo Talkin’ blends a lean fusion of country heart and bluesy alt-rock, lashed together with sheer vocal intensity that feels miles from the Music Row norm.
Cooper is gearing up for a busy summer of live performances, hitting the road for select dates of Riley Green’s Damn Country Music Tour, including a bucket list stop at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. He is also set to take the stage at festivals throughout the summer, making his CMA Fest debut on Thursday, June 6th, at the Good Molecules Reverb Stage.
