Prince debuts new song on ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’

Prince performed with his band 3RDEYEGIRL

Prince debuted a new song, and performed two others, on Wednesday’s The Arsenio Hall Show. The “Purple Rain” singer was the sole guest invited for Wednesday’s edition of Arsenio where he debuted “FUNKNROLL” with 3RDEYEGIRL and performed two lesser known tunes, “She’s Always In My Hair” and “Mutiny.”

Prince also sat down to chat with the host. While not revealing any news about his plans for 2014, he did give a little insight as to why fans haven’t heard much new music recently.

“We live in a singles market,” he states. “I come from the old school and love making albums. You wait until you have other songs to go with (ones you like).”

He concludes, “Without a contract, there’s no rush to do an album.”

Half of the audience prepared for Prince’s appearance by sporting shades of his trademark color purple.
