The song is Rascal Flatts’ first in five years
Rascal Flatts has teamed with the Jonas Brothers for “I Dare You” via Big Machine Label Group. The song was penned by Nick Jonas, Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, Dewain Whitmore Jr., and Tommy English.
“We’re so excited to kick off this next chapter of Rascal Flatts with this single, working with Kevin, Joe and Nick is such a blast, they’re class acts,” bassist Jay DeMarcus shares. “I think this song fits perfectly into our catalogue while also showing off something new and exciting, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans on the road!”
The song marks Rascal Flatts’ first new music since 2000 when they issued the six-song How They Remember You EP before a best-of collection months later in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trio called it quits before embarking on a planned farewell tour.
After renewed interest, frontman Gary LeVox, DeMarcus, and guitarist Joe Don Rooney announced a reunion late last year and will embark on the 2025 Life is a Highway Tour starting next month. The country superstar trio sold out nearly two-thirds of the tour less than a week after going on sale last fall with 20 shows now sold out. With Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane to join them across the run, the Live Nation-produced tour will celebrate 25 years of hits and the impact of one of the most influential groups in country music, with the trio delivering a thank you to the fans who have supported them throughout their over two-decades-long career.
