Grammy Award winner Ray LaMontagne has released a ‘360’ music video for single, “Hey, No Pressure” via Facebook on April 12th. The video, which was directed by Oscar winner Peter Martin, was in collaboration with Jaunt Studios, the leading producer and publisher of fully-immersive cinematic virtual reality experiences. In March, Jaunt released the video through their Jaunt VR app. The experience offers fans a fresh way to enjoy Ray’s music in a jaw-dropping, fully-immersive visual experience.
Set to the song “Hey, No Pressure,” viewers are transported to a mesmerizing world with solo dancers moving toLaMontagne’s music. Lavish visual effects and shapes create an exotic aura that blends into the song and provide a memorable visual backdrop. Filmed with Jaunt’s proprietary omnidirectional Jaunt ONE camera, the experience lets fans move beyond the traditional realm of music videos, giving a sense of presence. The user is fully enveloped in a three-dimensional world comprised of LaMontagne’s creative expression of sound and visuals.
Ray released his sixth studio album Ouroboros in March and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Folk Albums Chart and Vinyl Chart and #2 on the Rock Albums chart. The album received rave reviews with Entertainment Weekly giving the album an A-, garnering the #3 spot on People Magazine’s People Picks and receiving four out of five stars from American Songwriter. Vulture stated the album is, “a 40-minute sonic kaleidoscope incorporating blues, jazz, folk, and psychedelia,” while NPR All Songs Considered stamped the album, “incredible.” American Songwriter said, “the music pushes the soulful singer-songwriter outside any boundaries he has formerly operated in,” and Entertainment Weekly claimed, “Ouroboros is a perfect throwback to the lost art of the album-length format.”
Additionally, LaMontagne is set to kick off his 2016 Ouroboros North American tour with bassist Tom Blankenship, drummer Patrick Hallahan, guitarist Carl Broemel and keyboardist Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket) as the touring band.
