Reba did not contract COVID

McEntire likely suffered from RSV

Reba McEntire has clarified her previous statement that she contracted COVID earlier this summer. The country star shared that she likely had suffered from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which has similar symptoms to COVID, instead, but with a much lower death rate.

“I did say that I had COVID but when I got tested my antibodies — it came up that I had not had COVID,” she tells Nancy O’Dell during a talkshoplive conversation promoting her new box set Revived, Remixed, Revisited, on Monday (Aug 23rd).

“I had my antibodies from my vaccine. So I had all the symptoms, so I was kinda probably — I did get tested, you know the test that I had and it said that I had it but then the nurse that came and tested me for my antibodies said that I probably had the RSV virus.”

Earlier this month, McEntire shared on TikTok that she and boyfriend/actor Rex Linn had contracted a breakthrough case of the virus that put her on the couch for several days. However, she did not clarify if Linn had also contracted RSV.

During the hour long chat, McEntire also premiered the Revived version of “Can’t Even Get The Blues No More” that features her current touring band. She also previewed a video for the stripped, down tempo Revisited version of “I’m A Survivor.”

Revived, Remixed, Revisited is a three disc box set containing 30 re-recordings and remixes of some of her most iconic songs. Talk Shop Live has a limited number of autographed pre-orders available with the clear vinyl sets pre-selling out before the livestream.
