Little Big Town will become the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry
Little Big Town is set to be the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry. During the group’s performance of its hit song “Pontoon” Friday night (Oct 3rd), Opry member Reba McEntire surprised them on stage singing along before officially inviting them to join the Opry family.
“I got somethin’ to tell ya,” Reba states as the music stops. “I know the Grand Ole Opry is very important to ya’ll. The Grand Ole Opry was the first place you guys played together as a group in 1999. Is that correct?”
“Correct,” the band states.
“Okay, so, I have been asked to ask ya’ll… Little Big Town, would ya’ll like to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry?”
The crowd, filled with members of the LBT’s Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet’s family, erupted with cheers to which each singer said, “Yes.”
The official induction will take place at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on October 17th. Tickets available at opry.com.
