Season three premiere is Sept 21st

The wait is almost over for fans of the ABC drama series, Big Sky. The third season of the show, titled Big Sky: Deadly Trails, premieres Wednesday, September 21st at 10 pm ET/PT, and features a few new faces this year — Reba McEntire and boyfriend Rex Linn (CSI: Miami, Better Call Saul, Young Sheldon). Reba plays Sunny Barnes, who is described as a “successful backcountry outfitter with a secret history of missing customers.” Rex plays her husband Buck Barnes.

The country superstar says she was approached by executive producer and showrunner Elwood Reid, and said she absolutely would love the chance to play Sunny on the show.

“When Elwood Reid first pitched his idea for me becoming a member of the Big Sky family, I fell in love with it. I absolutely loved it,” says Reba. “Yeah, I play a devious, conniving, scheming woman on one side and on the other, I’m a really nice gal. I get to play on the screen with Rex Linn — he plays my husband – and a cast of wonderful characters. I love the crew (and) everything about filming Big Sky. I can’t wait for y’all to watch it.”

Big Sky also features Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, The Boys), Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury.

The flamed-hair singer and actress is making multiple national TV appearances this week to promote the show. She kicked things off today with an appearance on Good Morning America. Fans can also catch Reba on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight (Tues, Sept 20th) at 12:35 am ET/PT and on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Thursday, September 22nd at 9 am local time.

Reba is set to kick-off her fall arena tour, Reba: Live in Concert, kicks off October 13th in Lafayette, Louisiana. With 35 No. 1 hits under her belt, the award-winning entertainer will deliver hit after hit during her entertaining live show. Presented by Live Nation, the 17-city tour will feature special guest Terri Clark across all shows.

She also just announced Reba: The Ultimate Christmas Collection, which is set for release October 14th. The collection is made up of favorites from her previous Christmas releases along with the stirring track “I Needed Christmas,” featured in the Lifetime movie Reba McEntire’s Christmas In Tune.

Earlier this summer, Lifetime and Reba shared the first glimpse at her upcoming second film for the network, Reba McEntire’s The Hammer. McEntire will star as Kim Wheeler, an outspoken, firecracker lawyer who is appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada, and is one of the few traveling judges left in America. She also executive produces the film which co-stars Linn and Reba alum Melissa Peterman. It’s set to premiere in 2023.
