The pair were married in 1989 and have one biological child together

Country queen Reba McEntire and her husband/manager Narvel Blackstock have announced their separation, after 26 years of marriage. The shocking announcement was made via Reba’s website on Monday afternoon, August 3rd.

“In a joint statement, Narvel Blackstock and Reba McEntire have announced that they have been separated for the past few months, after 26 years of marriage,” the statement reads. “Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other. They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.”

The couple married in 1989 in Lake Tahoe, NV and had their only son together, Shelby who is an Indy Lights series race car driver for Andretti Autosport, less than a year later on February 25, 1990. Blackstock has three children from a previous marriage.

Blackstock began managing McEntire in the mid 80s, but started as the steel player in McEntire’s band. They founded Starstruck Entertainment in 1988. Blackstock also manages Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, who is also Blackstock’s daughter-in-law after marrying Brandon Blackstock in 2013.

McEntire is set to release a new single, “Until They Don’t Love You,” on Wednesday (August 5th) from her latest album, Love Somebody.
