Country queen and Nash Icon Award winner Reba McEntire is set to release her first new single in more than four years when “Going Out Like That” debuts on iTunes on January 6th. The uptempo track will appear on McEntire’s upcoming untitled Nash Icon Music album set for release in April.
“When you listen to thousands of songs trying to find just the right one to record, a really great song jumps out at you,” McEntire states. “That’s exactly what ‘Going Out Like That’ did to me! it jumped out because it’s a great song with up-tempo sassyness!!! The first time I heard it, a man was singing the demo. When I sang it coming from a female perspective, it became a woman’s power anthem!”

The song was of three new tracks that had been quietly tested among random radio listeners over the past couple of weeks. It’s the only one of the group that had a Nineties sound, as the other two, “Love Somebody” and “Enough,” a duet with Jennifer Nettles, are slower with a modern radio sound featuring electronic loops and even hand claps on the former.
The survey with the tracks was leaked on social media last week causing a frenzy among fans and a quick reminder to the industry than anything put online has the potential to be leaked in advance.
No word on when “Going Out Like That” will be sent to radio, but most likely on January 5th or 6th.
