Record Store Day announces 2025 date, Post Malone as Ambassador

The annual event returns for the 18th year

Organizers of the annual Record Store Day have announced that this year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 12th. The independent record store celebration celebrates its 18th year one week earlier than usual with Post Malone named Ambassador.

“What an honor, I can’t believe I was chosen to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2025,” Malone shares. “Record Store Day is so important and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive. We love hitting local shops when we’re on the road, seeing all the crazy artwork, the whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring. I feel at home. It’s really an unexplainable feeling to hit up a shop and dig through crates, just see what grabs your eye. You can be looking for something super specific and end up finding something totally different. It’s the best. Keep supporting y’all and let’s keep records and these local shops going strong. Happy Record Store Day everybody!”

Paramore, Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, Run The Jewels, Dave Grohl, Jack White, Metallica, and others are among the former Record Store Day Ambassadors.

Record Store Day is the largest single-day music event in the world and celebrates brick-and-mortar indie record stores worldwide. The List of releases will be released in the coming months with titles already being announced, including a limited edition David Bowie live CD and 2 LP sets.
