To benefit the Northside College Prep High School in Chicago, Illinois, a recording session with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy is up for auction.
The experience is described as “One 8-hour day of recording a song at the world famous Wilco Loft. Your session will be tracked by a staff engineer and overseen by Jeff Tweedy who will also help you produce and arrange your song….and maybe even play on it if you need him to! You will leave with a CD of a finished mix. Date to be determined according to schedules.”
It’s difficult to put a price tag on an opportunity like this, as Tweedy is one of the most respected songwriters and producers of the last twenty years or so. Of course, though, by the end of the auction we will be able to put a price tag on such an experience.
Currently the high bid stands at $20,500.
In other Wilco news, tickets for their Solid Sound Music and Arts Festival are now on sale. The festival features Neko Case, Yo La Tengo, and Wilco (of course), among others.
