Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper guitarist Orianthi are working on a collaboration album and tour together.
Billboard spoke to the pair on the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday (April 26th) to discuss the forthcoming projects.
“Ori is unbelievable,” said Sambora. “There’s a bunch of stuff that people don’t know she can do that I know she can do. We write great songs and we’re able to take it on an improvisational level. That’s very important also.”
A release date has not been set, but the couple hope to release it soon.
“When it kind of feels ready, we’ll put it out,” Orianthi states. “When it kind of feels like, yeah.”
Sambora and Orianthi, who recently returned from a five-date Australian touring stint together, will tour Europe this summer.
“We got a European run coming through,” Sambora states, “starting with the Download Festival in London, Paris and Munich.”
When asked about the tour setlist that spans over 40 years of music, they joked that they’ll perform Disney songs such as “Hakuna Matata.”
