Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is speaking out about reconciling with his boss, Jon Bon Jovi, and the possibility of rejoining his bandmates on tour. In April, about a month after the band launched their “Because We Can” world tour, Sambora pulled out for “personal issues,” which has led to rumors of a feud between the guitarist and singer.
Jon spoke with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in April about Sambora’s departure and stated that Sambora’s absence is “a personal matter, but we love him very much, and he is absolutely still a member of the band.”
However, the feud escalated earlier this month when word got out that Sambora sent JBJ a three word email saying “Hire the Edge” in response to Jon telling the UK’s The Standard that Sambora was replaceable and not as important as U2’s the Edge.
But things seem to be cooling off between the couple as Star Pulse reports that Sambora claims that the two are “very close” to working out their issues.
“We’re just not happening at the moment. Right now I’m just focusing on the fashion stuff,” Sambora states.
The fashion stuff Sambora is referring to is his sexy women’s fashion line with designer Nikki Lund to create Nikki Rich.
When Sambora was asked about details of “personal issues,” the rocker said, “Family issues are family issues — the band is like a family and there’s not reason for me to say anything.”
A TMZ photographer spotted Sambora outside the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday (June 28th) and was asked about reuniting with the band. Sambora said he and Jon have a 30 year relationship and that things “will work themselves out.” Sambora said he also felt for the fans who who were feeling the guitarist’s absence.
Two of the band’s summer dates in Cleveland and Noblesville, IN have been cancelled this summer for what many speculate as poor ticket sales. Sambora’s absence doesn’t seem to be the only issue for the low ticket sales as the band had played the area during the first leg of the tour with Sambora. Several of the band’s fall tour dates include a second stop in cities played six months prior.
