Richie Sambora won’t join Bon Jovi European tour leg

Sambora left the tour abruptly last month

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is still sitting out of the band’s latest world tour.  The band just wrapped the first leg of the tour in San Jose, CA and kicks off the South African and European leg on May 7th. In a message posted on Bon Jovi’s website April 30th, it’s clear Sambora’s problems still persist.

“Due to a personal matter, Richie Sambora will not be performing on the European and South African leg of the tour. All shows will go on as scheduled,” the sites reads.

Neither the band nor Sambora have identified the famed guitarist’s absence other than citing “personal reasons.” Despite Sambora leaving the tour shortly after it began in early April, and still not joining his band mates for the overseas trek, front man Jon Bon Jovi recently confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that Sambora is still very much apart of the band.

The European leg of the tour wraps July 5th at London’s Hyde Park before resuming the in the US on July 12th at Soldier Field in Chicago. The tour wraps for the year December 17th in Brisbane, Australia.
