The band is calling it quits
Fans of the emo band My Chemical Romance are mourning this weekend. The band have announced via their website that they’re breaking up after 12 years together.
“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible,” the band writes on its website on Friday (March 22nd). “We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.”
The band has released four studio albums and began working on their fifth last May. NME reports the band had been releasing tracks for their scrapped LP, Conventional Weapons, online in recent months and writing sessions had been going “really well.”
