The entire trilogy will be released by end of summer

Rita Wilson has shared her new EP Trilogy 1, available now. Trilogy 1 is the first in a three-EP series slated for release over the next several months, continuing Wilson’s prolific, compelling and diverse slate of new music output.

Wilson co-wrote the three new tracks with an amazing group of collaborators including Kristian Bush from Sugarland (who she previously toured with), Kara Dioguardi (Gwen Stefani, Pink), Mozella (Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson) and Liz Rose (Taylor Swift). She also co-produced all three tracks, along with producer Ron Aiello (Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain) on “You’re the Music” and “Floating On A Feeling,” and Wendy Wang (Elle King, Lauren Jauregui) on “Oh, Love”.

Wilson’s vocals shine on all three tracks. Having established herself as a formidable force in the country world, tracks like “You’re The Music” and “Floating On A Feeling” also display a keen pop sensibility, with their memorable hooks and crystalline production. “Oh Love” has a nostalgic, 70’s folk quality with its warm harmonies and shimmering melody.

“People are multifaceted. We are not just one thing. And we often do multiple things at once; a metaphorical and creative juggling act,” Wilson explains. “I started thinking about triptychs and how each panel shows one aspect of a painting. In actual triptychs the panels can be folded so that only part of the art is seen. That’s often how I feel. I’m showing one side of myself or maybe two but the complete picture is hidden. That led me to the idea of a trilogy; a series of three related works. These songs are a part of me that I don’t often show but they’re a part of who I am. My three new EPs called Trilogy 1, 2 and 3 are different aspects of the music I love to write, the stories I love to tell. Three EPs, three songs each. As a triptych each one is showing a different part of the whole picture. As a trilogy they’re related to each other musically and narratively.”

On March 5th, Wilson also released “Hello World,” in partnership with Zumba celebrating International Women’s Day. The track is a dance-infused, infectious collaboration featuring guest vocals from Brazilian star and Zumba international ambassador Claudia Leitte and famed Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari (Gwen Stefani, Fall Out Boy). The visually colorful music video features Zumba instructors and students from over 15 countries.

An accomplished singer/songwriter, Wilson is also celebrated for her work as an actress, producer, and philanthropist. In 2019 she received a Star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame in honor of her rich film career, and was also just honored by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce with a Lifetime Achievement Award. With her first love being music, Wilson has four studio albums under her belt, as well as a string of recent singles including “I Wanna Kiss Bob Dylan,” “Where’s My Country Song,” “What I Would Say,” “Pray for Peace” and “Everybody Cries” from the film The Outpost, nominated for “Best Song” by the Critic’s Choice Awards and winner of Hollywood Music in Media Award’s “Outstanding Song for Independent Film.” Over the last several years, she has toured the world over performing on such iconic stages as the Grand Ole Opry, The Sydney Opera House and Walt Disney Concert Hall as well as coveted slots at music festivals including Stagecoach and CMA Fest among others. Wilson also hosts her own radio show The Spark heard exclusively on SiriusXM’s Volume Channel.
