Robert Plant announces ‘Digging Deep’ project

Limited Edition 2 CD set includes three previously unreleased tracks

Eight-time GRAMMY Award-winning and former Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant has announced Digging Deep: Suburbia for release on October 2nd. The limited edition 2 CD set showcases landmark tracks from each of Plant’s 11 masterful solo albums, including a number of songs featured on his podcast, Digging Deep with Robert Plant.

Highlights of the set include the No. 1 rock hit, “Hurting Kind,” and the GRAMMY Award-nominated “Shine It All Around,” among others. Three previously unreleased tracks are included in the 30 track set. “Nothing Takes the Place of You” was written by New Orleans musician Toussaint McCall and recorded for the acclaimed 2013 film, Winter In The Blood. “Charlie Patton Highway (Turn It Up – Part 1) was taken from the soon to be released album Band of Joy Volume 2. Finally, a spectacular duet rendition of Charley Feathers’ rockabilly classic, “Too Much Alike” featuring Patty Griffin will also be included.

Season three of Digging Deep arrives today (July 27th) on podcast networks. It was recorded live at London’s Rough Trade East. In the first episode, Plant discusses “Morning Dew” taken from his 2002 album Dreamland a track that could be described as “a post-apocalyptic psych-folk classic” with an incredible history.
