“Scarlet” remix is available at radio
The Rolling Stones have released a remix of “Scarlet,” their previously unreleased track featuring Jimmy Page and Rick Grech. “Scarlet (The Killers and Jacques Lu Cont Remix)” is available at radio now.
The original track is the No. 1 Greatest Gainer at Triple A radio this week. It’s surged 22 spots from 56 to 34 as it approaches the Top 30.
The original track was released on July 22nd and will be included on the box set and deluxe CD and vinyl editions of the forthcoming multi-format release of 1973 classic Goats Head Soup, alongside two previously unreleased tracks “All The Rage” and “Criss Cross,” plus many more rarities, outtakes and alternative mixes. Goats Head Soup, restored to its full glory and more, will be released by Polydor/Interscope/UMe in multi-format and deluxe editions on September 4th.
Its video, featuring Emmy-nominated actor Paul Mescal, who starred in critically acclaimed television series Normal People, was released earlier this month.
On September 9th, The Stones will open a world-first flagship store, RS No. 9 Carnaby, at 9 Carnaby Street in London’s Soho. The new store, created in partnership with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s merchandise and brand management company, will feature all the hallmarks of the iconic band and include exclusive new fashion and merchandise under the RS No. 9 Carnaby brand available in-store and online.
They’re also set to release the previously unreleased 1989 concert film Steel Wheels Live – Atlantic City, New Jersey on multiple formats on September 25th via Eagle Rock Entertainment. This latest release from the band’s archives has been restored, remixed and remastered. In celebration, a double A-sided 10” picture disc of “Rock and a Hard Place” (Live from Atlantic City) and “Almost Hear You Sigh” (Live from Tokyo Dome) will be released for Record Store Day’s second drop date of the year, on September 26th.
