The ultimate collection features 18 CDs and 2 Blu-rays
Rory Gallagher’s The BBC Collection brings together the Irish guitarist’s BBC performances together for the first time. The ultimate collection includes concerts and radio sessions, all recorded between 1971 and 1986, with over 75% of the material never before officially released.
Available on October 11th via UMG, the box set will feature 182 songs across 18 CDs and two Blu-ray discs with footage from concerts and BBC TV sessions from 1973 to 1984, also never before officially released.
The new box set is compiled from tapes in the BBC archives along with off-air recordings and Gallagher’s recordings. More than 45 minutes of audio recordings see the light of day for the first time in this box set.
The box set covers 16 years of Gallagher’s performances with highlights such as the 1977 Sight & Sound Concert, his 1980 headline show at the Reading Festival, and the emotional At Midnight live concert at Belfast’s Ulster Hall in 1984.
Slimmed versions will be available on 2 CDs and 3 LPs entitled The Best of Rory Gallagher at the BBC.
