KISS, Sumbertramp and ABBA are also prepping these milestone reissues
Rush and Elton John are among the iconic rock acts set to release a 40th anniversary edition of one of their albums in 2014.
Ivar Hamilton, VP of catalog marketing for Universal Music Canada, confirms to Canada’s The Globe and Mail that Rush is “very involved” in the 40th anniversary reissue of the group’s self-titled debut album set for release next year.
Hamilton also states that the label is preparing 40th anniversary reissues for Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Supertramp’s Crime of the Century, as well as 40th anniversary releases for KISS and ABBA, although no specific albums were named at press time.
No specifics, such as track listings, extra content or release dates were revealed for any of the aforementioned releases. However, if the 2013 deluxe reissues of Nirvana’s In Utero, David Bowie’s The Next Day Extra, and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories are any indication of what’s ahead, die hard rock fans have a lot to look forward to for any 2014 reissues.
