Baby boy is due this fall

Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi are expecting their first child in November. The couple spoke with People exclusively about the news, stating they’re excited about welcoming a baby boy into the world.

“We got a little man on the way,” Scotty tells the publication. “We always knew we wanted kids, but we always knew we wanted the first few years to travel and have time on the road, to see things and experience life. We’ve gotten to live a lot of life and do some cool things, so seems like now’s a good time to settle down a little and expand the family.”

The couple, who wed in June 2018, shares mostly girls dominate their family.

“I was the only boy on both sides of my family, the last McCreery boy out there,” Scotty explains. “Gabi’s from two sisters in her family, so I just figured it would be a girl. But we got a surprise of a boy.”

The couple have not picked out a name for their son, as of press time.

The news follows McCreery’s latest single, “Damn Strait,” as it continues to rise up the country charts. The track follows the country singer’s fourth consecutive No. 1 single “You Time,” also from his fifth studio album Same Truck. Released in late 2021, the Garner, North Carolina native shifted his perspective to reflect on the last decade of his career and life with Gabi and dog Moose.

Same Truck was produced by Frank Rogers, Aaron Eshuis and Derek Wells, the team who produced his previous project, the RIAA Gold-certified Seasons Change which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and contained three consecutive No. 1 hits: the 2x RIAA Platinum-certified “Five More Minutes,” Platinum-certified “This is It,” and Gold-certified “In Between.” McCreery co-wrote every song on that album.

McCreery has dates set through December with some of his own headlining appearances and as an opener on Brooks & Dunn’s Reboot 2022 Tour.
