New dates for New York City & Miami have been added
Due to overwhelming demand, Shakira has added second stadium dates in New York and Miami to her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The newly announced shows will take place on Friday, May 16th at the MetLife Stadium and Saturday, June 7th at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Presales start tomorrow (Thurs, Apr 3rd) ahead of the general sale on Monday, April 7th at 10 am local time. The additional dates will also offer a variety of different VIP packages and experiences for fans to take their concert experience to the next level. Packages vary but include premium tickets, Meet & Greet and photo op with Shakira, autographed item, access to the pre-show VIP lounge, exclusive VIP merch item & more. VIP package contents vary based on the offer selected.
The announcement comes amid the global superstarโs wildly successful Latin American leg of the tour, which included a massive seven-show run in Mexico City at Estadio GNP Seguros, making her the first artist to achieve this feat at the venue. Shakira played to sold-out crowds and recently added nine additional Mexico dates in response to strong fan support, including four more at that same venue. Special guests across Grupo Frontera also joined Shakira on the stage for three nights in Mexico.
Shakira’s return to Mexico created an unprecedented economic boost, drawing 455,000 fans to Estadio GNP Seguros, generating a direct economic impact for the local economy. Preliminary data from Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism indicates hotel occupancy in the capital will reach 66 percent during the tour datesโa five percent increase compared to the usual average.
The Latin America leg also included Shakiraโs long-awaited return to her hometown of Barranquilla for her first performance in 19 years. She was recently honored with a statue in her likeness on the river promenade of the city, and the stadium performances featured a Carnival theme. Additionally, Shakira made history as the first artist in Colombian history to perform in five stadiums across the country.
Shakira continues to break recordsโnot just on stage, but on the global charts. For the first time in her career, she has claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboardโs Top Tour Ranking, becoming the first Latin female artist to reach this milestone.
The tour, named after her latest album, continues this week with final Latin America shows across Chile, and Colombia before kicking off in the U.S. on Tuesday, May 13th at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina
