New single coming Sept 23rd

Shania Twain will release hew new single, “Waking Up Dreaming,” on Friday, September 23rd via UMG Nashville. The Canadian country/pop superstar shared the news on social media, stating she’s excited about new music.

“Every time I get to announce something like this I get such a rush of adrenaline and nerves – it never gets old… I am super excited to share with you that my new song ‘Waking Up Dreaming’ is coming out this Friday!!,” she writes on Twitter. “I’ve spent the last couple years working away on new music… on my documentary… on the Vegas residency and it’s been such a creatively fulfilling time for me, I can’t wait for this next chapter and ‘Waking Up Dreaming’ is just the start.”

No word on when a new album will be available, but the track is the second new one from Twain in recent months. In July, she released “Not Just A Girl,” a new song that was included on her new compilation album, Not Just A Girl (The Highlights) which doubles as the soundtrack to her Netflix documentary of the same name. The 18 track project features her biggest hits in order of appearance in the documentary. Her most recent album containing all new material, Now, was released in 2017.

Twain is among the 2022 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees, along with Steve Wariner, Hillary Lindsey, Gary Nicholson and David Malloy. The five inductees-elect will join the 223 previously inducted members of the elite organization when they are officially inducted during the 52nd Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on Sunday, October 30th at the Music City Center.

Last week, she wrapped her Shania Twain “Let’s Go!” The Las Vegas Residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.Β The show opened in December 2019 with Twain serving as creative director. It features a high-energy production that’s a nonstop party, taking fans on a spectacular journey through Twain’s monumental catalogue of hits, including “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!,” “You’re Still The One,” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
