Silk Sonic releases ‘Skate’ video

The Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak track available now

Silk Sonic, the duo made up of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, have dropped the new video for their second single, “Skate.” The track is expected to appear on their forthcoming debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, which is slated to arrive this year.

The track was written by Bruno Mars, Brandon Anderson, Dernst Emile II, James Fauntleroy, Domitille Degalle, J.D. Beck.

It follows “Leave The Door Open,” which was released after the multiple GRAMMY winners formed earlier this year. The song became Mars’ eighth No. 1 track on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The duo made their debut performance with “Leave The Door Open” and served up a powerful tribute to Little Richard at the GRAMMY Awards.

Named Silk Sonic by the legendary Bootsy Collins, Mars and .Paak have come together to create the setlist of doom.

Earlier this summer, Mars made history as the first artist ever to receive five RIAA diamond certified singles. Mars’ “That’s What I Like” and “When I Was Your Man” have both been diamond certified, selling and streaming over 10 million copies and bringing his total certifications to five. These follow the diamond certifications of “Just the Way You Are,” “Grenade,” and “Uptown Funk! with Mark Ronson.

Over Fourth of July weekend, Mars was among the first large-scale entertainment to return to the Entertainment Capital of the World for his residency at Park MGM. Mars performed six shows throughout the month.

In March 2021, Mars dropped his first lifestyle clothing collection, teaming up with Lacoste to launch Ricky Regal.
