SiriusXM adds and updates channel lineup

SiriusXM subscribers who turn on their radios next week may or may not be familiar with the channels they’re hearing. The satellite radio broadcaster has announced several new additions and changes to their lineup starting on Thursday, July 17th.

Three new channels are being added with more than a dozen moving to a different channel while three are being removed from the sat rad lineup altogether.

The three new channels being offered are:

  • Venus on channel 3 in Pop, playing rhythmic pop hits from the 2000’s through today, from Beyonce and Britney Spears to Christina Aguilera and the Black Eyed Peas
  • Utopia on channel 55 in Dance & Eletronic, playing club anthems to guilty pop pleasures to underground classics from the ’90s and ’00s such as Janet Jackson, Amber and Daft Punk
  • Y2Kountry on channel 57 in Country, playing music from the new millennimum from Toby Keith to Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and more.

The following channels are moving to a different channel on your radios:

  • Willie’s Roadhouse: moving from channel 56 to channel 59
  • The Highway: moving from channel 59 to channel 56
  • ESPN Radio: moving from channel 84 to channel 83
  • ESPN Xtra: moving from channel 85 to channel 84
  • Mad Dog Sports Radio: moving from channel 86 to channel 85
  • SiriusXM NBA Radio: moving on Sirius from channel 217 to channel 207; moving on XM from channel 217 to channel 86
  • SiriusXM NHL Network: moving on Sirius from channel 207 to channel 211; moving on XM from channel 211 to channel 218
  • Indie: moving from channel 104 to channel 102
  • SiriusXM Stars: moving from channel 106 to channel 109
  • OutQ: moving from channel 109 to channel 106
  • SiriusXM Urban View: moving from channel 110 to channel 126
  • Road Dog Trucking: moving from channel 128 to channel 146
  • SiriusXM Public Radio: moving from channel 205 to channel 121
  • La Mezcla: moving from channel 148 to channel 149
  • Aguila: moving from channel 151 to channel 148

The following three channels are being completely removed from the lineup:

  • 20 on 20: No longer available on SiriusXM; Many of the emerging pop songs played on 20 on 20 can also be heard on SiriusXM Hits 1 (Channel 2).
  • SiriusXM Pops: No longer available on satellite lineup; Combining with Symphony Hall on satellite; Will continue to be available on SiriusXM Internet radio on channel 760 in the Classical category
  • Vivid Radio: No longer available on satellite lineup; Vivid Radio will remain available on SiriusXM Internet radio on SiriusXM Limited Engagements 6, channel 791 in the Entertainment category

No explanation for the changes was revealed by SiriusXM.
