SiriusXM announces invitation-only Dwight Yoakam concert

SiriusXM has announced that GRAMMY Award-winning entertainment icon Dwight Yoakam will perform a special invitation-only show for SiriusXM on Wednesday, August 30th at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY. The intimate show will air live on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country and Prime Country channels at 9 pm ET.

The special performance for SiriusXM will feature Yoakam performing signature songs from throughout his 30-plus year career, as well as dipping into his vast repertoire of covers. Yoakam burst on the music scene with his chart-topping 1986 album Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc. and has received multiple GRAMMY, CMA and ACM awards. He has twelve gold albums and nine platinum or multi-platinum albums, with five of those albums topping Billboard’s Country Albums chart and another fourteen landing in the Top 10.

Additionally, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat, a channel curated by Dwight Yoakam, will take over SiriusXM’s Prime Country for a limited time and will feature music from Yoakam’s extensive career as well as his musical friends and heroes. Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat will air Friday, September 1st through Monday, September 4th on channel 58.

“It’s all fun and games in the Hamptons…till someone puts me on SiriusXM LIVE! Get ready for some ‘Loud, Loud Music’ at The Stephen Talkhouse!” states the singer.

“Dwight Yoakam is one of the most singular artists in country music history, drawing from both traditional country and classic rock & roll influences, like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Byrds,” says Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer of SiriusXM. “Bringing his hard-driving brand of West Coast honky-tonk to an intimate setting on the far Eastern tip of Long Island will be an unforgettable experience for lucky fans and subscribers,”

In addition to his musical career, Yoakam is a respected film and television actor, whose films include Sling Blade and The Newton Boys. In 2016, he appeared in David E. Kelley’s Amazon series, Goliath. He will appear in director Steven Soderbergh’s new Amazon feature, Logan Lucky, with Channing Tatum and Daniel Craig later this month.

Yoakam’s special performance for SiriusXM in the Hamptons is the latest in a series at the famed Hampton’s music venue. Last August, Coldplay’s powerful performance in front of a crowd of lucky SiriusXM subscribers and guests at The Stephen Talkhouse was broadcast nationally to SiriusXM subscribers.

The private performance will air live on Wednesday, August 30th via satellite on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country (channel 60) and Prime Country (channel 58), and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.

SiriusXM subscribers since July 27th can enter for the chance to win a trip to New York City including airfare, hotel stay and a pair of tickets to the show.

SiriusXM recently announced that its 200+ channels – including SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country and Prime Country – are now also available for streaming to SiriusXM subscribers nationwide with Amazon Alexa.
