Two shows move to Faction Talk 103
SiriusXM’s first-ever 24/7 all-talk music channel, Volume 106, is moving to a streaming-only digital channel. As part of the change, beginning Monday, August 1st, listeners can hear Feedback and Trunk Nation on Faction Talk channel 103 at new times. Both shows will also continue to simulcast on Volume in the SXM App.
Feedback, hosted by VH1 host Nik Carter and veteran magazine editor, entertainment journalist and author Lori Majewski, will air live on weekdays from 7-9 pm ET on Faction Talk. The show, which has aired weekday mornings since Volume’s launch, will add former Spin and Vibe editor and author Alan Light to the mix. Light previously hosted the popular afternoon program, Debatable, with original MTV VJ and radio personality Mark Goodman on Volume. The show aired its last episode on July 22nd, but Goodman can still be heard on the pop hits channel, 80s on 8.
Trunk Nation, hosted by TV personality and famed radio DJ Eddie Trunk, moves an hour later, airing live daily from 3-5 pm ET on Faction Talk. Trunk’s mix of news, knowledge, artist interviews and listener interaction is a fan favorite among rock fans. His weekly show on Hair Nation will remain live from 5-8 pm ET every Monday, when possible.
“From time to time we modify our channel lineup to make room for new channels and other exclusive content,” a SiriusXM rep tells us. “In this case, Volume is transitioning to a streaming-only channel, where listeners on-the-go, in the car, or at home on their connected devices can continue to enjoy the channel’s programming and more.”
As of this writing, SiriusXM has not disclosed what will replace Volume’s satellite channel on 106.
SiriusXM launched Volume in 2016, bringing the music conversation directly to listeners with live daily shows, artist interviews, weekly specials, news briefs, in-depth documentaries and more, hosted by the most respected people in music. While on the air, Volume gave listeners the chance to get in on the action to defend and discuss their idols and kept listeners in the know with frequent news and music-related segments each hour.
At this time, it’s unclear how the streaming-only version will operate.
