Sting releasing new digital single to support ‘Duets’ album

New single will be performed on GMA

Sting is releasing a special digital single of a new duet with African artist, Shirazee, entitled “Englishman/African in New York” on March 19th. This new version was inspired by Shirazee’s remake of Sting’s classic hit which the music icon describes as a “message of positivity and hope in these dark times” and will be accompanied by a new music video. The song celebrates his new Sting Duets album, available March 19th. The pair will perform the track virtually on ABC’s Good Morning America the same day.

Duets compiles some of Sting’s most celebrated collaborations from throughout his illustrious career including those with Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Annie Lennox, Charles Aznavour, Zucchero, Mylène Farmer, Shaggy, Melody Gardot, Gashi and more. Duets will be available on CD, 2 LP and digitally. A Japanese SHM CD and Deluxe Edition SHM CD/DVD are also available containing the Shirazee duet as a bonus track. The DVD will contain Shirazee duet and “September” with Zucchero music videos along with interviews and a track by track breakdown with Sting. A limited edition with autographed cover art is available for pre-order at the official store.

Originally recorded as the theme song for the 2005 Japanese movie Ashura, My Funny Valentine with Herbie Hancock will be released worldwide on March 11th via all DSP platforms.

Sting also launches a new interactive website as a visual companion piece detailing each track with photo-visual content and new video commentary from the former Police frontman. Available in multiple languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish and Japanese), the website chronologically explores his new album with a musical journey spanning from 1992 to the present. Fans are invited to travel along the timeline for the story behind each duet, check out new interviews with Sting musing on these collaborations and share their own memories of each song with other fans around the world.

The album was delayed from November 2020 due to unforeseen pandemic-related manufacturing delays.
